Squad Goals
OPENLab2016, as part of the Programme for Innovation in Artform Development (PIAD), an initiative of the Vrystaat Arts Festival and the University of the Free State. Included a weeklong residency at MAP (Modern Art Projects) in Richmond. (July 2016).

Fourteen artists from across the country were selected to take part in OPENLab2016, a socially engaged interdisciplinary arts laboratory. OPENLab2016 started off with a series of workshops facilitated by artist and lead facilitator, Paul Gazzola in Bloemfontein during the course of the Vrystaat Kunstefees. The residency then moved to Richmond in the Northern Cape to continue at The Modern Art Projects South Africa. There the artists collaborated with one another and created new projects using the town and its people as a starting point. These intense daily workshops were facilitated by Abrie Fourie, Ella Ziegler, Mabitsela Ignatius Lesiba, and Khanyisile Mintho Mbongwa.

 

The selected artists included: Johandi du Plessis, Karin Tan, Skye Quadling, Scott Eric Williams, Kai Lossgott, Nomusa Musah Mtshali, Kivithra Naicker, Wezile Mgibe, Janet Botes, Victoria Wigzell, Kathleen Sawyer, Yazeed Kamaldien, Lehlohonolo Dube and Sikelela Damane.

WOMYN AT WORK (2020) 

Four segments of interactions and participations.

 
“Womyn at Work” is a collaborative non-binary art intervention from South Asia started in the year 2020.
They introduced a unique participatory process of observing artistic expressions by formulating four interactive segments
that stimulates the essence of the work by womyn artists from around the globe.

Episode Two's Selected Artists included Rokeya Sultana (Bangladesh), Tillottama Bhowmick (Bangladesh), Reshma Chhiba (South Africa), Kivithra Naicker (South Africa)
