Born and raised in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, Naicker works as an artist, teacher, and academic.

 

An alumna of the University of KwaZulu-Natal, the University of Cape Town, and the Institute for Creative Arts (ICA),​ her artistic practice interrogates the construction of identity in the lives of South African-Indian women.

​

She auto-ethnographically traces Hindu-feminist traditions through performance, seeking to create performance spaces within which transgression can occur. Naicker's use of her own body as a site and medium speaks directly to violence and the brown body.
