Born and raised in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, Naicker works as an artist, teacher, theatre maker, writer, and academic.

An alumna of the University of KwaZulu-Natal, the University of Cape Town, and the Institute for Creative Arts (ICA), she has continued to further her academic research in the field of performance.

Her artistic practice interrogates the construction of identity in the lives of South African-Indian women in the context of the city of Durban.

Naicker auto-ethnographically traces Hindu-feminist traditions through performance, seeking to create (performance) spaces within which transgression can occur. Naicker's use of her own body as a site and medium speaks directly to violence and the brown body.
